I'm having an issue uploading the background tothe W505. How long does the unit take to read the CD ROM? An aside . . . . when I attempted to upload the first time, it changed a setting somewhere and my display now blacks out after 30 seconds. Any advice?

I had the IV-w505 installed yesterday in my Miata along with the PAC TR-7. I have been reading the book that is the typical Alpine manual and I can see that the PAC TR-7 is a must have for this unit. The IPOD functionality is worth the money that the unit cost. It is intuitive and wroks well...

My dealer who installed the IV-W505a today is fabricating a cover for the unit.

Well . . . it looks like I'm getting an Alpine IVA-W505a installed tomorrow in the Miata. Mrs. AtomicLabRat signed the purchse order as long as she gets a new Kenwood for her Scion. I'll post pictures of the before and after.

I was hopiong to not have to open the dash up. Just too ****ed busy to mess wth it unless I absolutely have to.

I'm surprised no one hasn't made a cover to prevent theft.

Does anyone make a plastic screen that will cover the screen of an IVA-W505? Since I can't take the faceplate off, it wold be nice to be able to cover it up.

Another stupid question, is there a cover available to disguise the face plate and deter theft?

How hard is it to hook up a PAC-TR7 bypass? I am going to put one of htese in a miata.
