    Midbass in custom kicks

It's a small car (Chevy Spark) so one 12 is more than enough.

    Midbass in custom kicks

Here is some pics I took of the kicks. The "A ❤️S" part lights up at night in blue (I used EL tape behind it). When I took these pics I had not put the right side light in because I was waiting on more EL Tape. It is finished now. https://i.imgur.com/D39AXZP.jpg...

3 way. 6.5" in the kicks, 4" in the factory dash (because I wanted it to look as "stock" as possible, and tweeters in the A pillars.

    Midbass in custom kicks

I finished this install a couple months ago. I should post some pics of it. It sounds amazing now that I ported them through the carpet. I'm still doing some "fine tuning" every now and then on it but the imaging is great and every small detail can be heard.

    Frequency for Focal ES165 KX2

Hmm. Interesting. I just never crossed tweets over below 2.8 before and most above 3. Then again, I've always recommended a 3 way set up with 4" or 5.25" for mids and 6.5 to 8" for midbass. Nothing beats a properly tuned and designed 3 way set up IMO. That's not to say some two way set ups...

    I didn't start this thread.

    Frequency for Focal ES165 KX2

Oh. Well I have 4" midrange speakers with 6.5" midbass speakers so I guess I don't have that issue. I'm not sure i would want to play a tweeter below 3k regardless. Seems like it would distort like crazy with any significant power to it and would likely blow regardless of the manufacturer.

    Frequency for Focal ES165 KX2

How are Focal tweets crap? The ones with the power ES series are great. You just don't aim them on axis.

    Frequency for Focal ES165 KX2

Those your only speakers? Do you have dedicated midbass speakers too? What sub and where is it set? General rule, if that was your only speakers and a sub. I would set the tweets at 3.5 to 3.8k. The high end on the woofers to about 2.8 to 3.2 depending on your slope and the low end around...

Amp getting really hot and going into protect mode

I knew what you meant. Lol. I was just basically saying those old school Fosgates were legit. I can't speak for their new stuff except I do have a 3Sixty.3 as it offered more features than my old school Symmetry EPX2 and that thing was the **** back in the day. Had the 32 band card for it...

Those Fosgates were certainly not cheap when I purchased them.

Amp getting really hot and going into protect mode

I don't know about how long new amps last as I've not purchased one since I purchased all those Fosgates back in 99. I had the 600a4, the 800a4, and three 800a2s. All of them still work perfectly except this 800a4.

Amp getting really hot and going into protect mode

I'll check that out and see what they would charge me to repair it. If it's more than $100 though, I might as well get new. Amps today are so much cheaper than they were back then. Good quality amps can be had for a couple hundred dollars these days were as back then, the cheap brands cost...

Amp getting really hot and going into protect mode

It's an old amp (1999 model). Those things were built solid back then. I really didn't want to have to buy a new amp but if I can't figure this out of find someone locally who can, I guess I'm going to have to buy a new amp. It's just funny that it plays fine and sounds good for about 30 to...
