I used a cheap extension on my new iva-w205 worked jest fine.

My alpine rep (who's an @ss by the way) says no 505 shipping until the end of the year. I think i would wait until it is available and then buy the 205. I think you could get a hell of a deal after the new unit is out.

My shop did a 350 with 2 type r 10's sealed, Inverted the subs under the strut base. Powered it with a JL 500, sounded really good not high numbers but great for daily use.

Our shop built a two door blazer with 4 mojo 12's and 4 4000d's on our meter in did 161.4. Only a quick burp !! That much power will smoke the mojo's.

You can get a kca-415i for video interface. Without it you can only do audio.

I sell a lot of jl amps, haven't had a high failure rate, most problems seem to be when there run at one ohm. Whats funny is they will do it for a long time, sometimes years ! The new v2 will not even play at one ohm. I loaned a v2 in place of a v1 that had quit would not play customer was at...

You can't get w7's to one one they have three ohm voice coils so you would be an 1.5 ohms

I'm using the 2004 to run type x comps and memphis plates. I'm a memphis dealer so I'm probly partial to it !!

It sounds like you have a voice coil going bad. Memphis amps have a really good protection circuit, the will go to protect when the ohms drop to low. If you had a shorted voice coil it would not come back on. What is happening is really clipping protect to keep the sub from smoking.

I've installed several of these units, most have been removed. Poor sound quality and many compatibility issues. Ive switched to the basic motorola unit they seem to be a lot better so far.
