So aiwa and jvs are decent HU's and the Alpine models with the little adapters are higher quality then?

Thanks, i'll look into that. As for cd playing, I'm not to worried if it skips because i won't use the cd player much at all seeing as how all my cd's will be on the computer running through the aux inputs.

Well, I've got keen ears(ran sound systems for years) so i would notice a difference between a cheap reciever and a high end one, but for now i just want one that sounds acceptably good for now while i'm broke. lol I'm not asking for a perfect system, just the best cheap system with an aux input...

Alright, well that's why i was asking. So either a new HU, or an FM modulator then. How clean is the sound of an mid range AIWA reciever?

I have one to, but what i meant was buying a cheap tape deck with an aux input if that's feasable.

Thanks, I'll look AIWA headunits. I don't however have to have the input on the front, but it does work. lol So yeah, if i were to replace it i could run the wire to the back anyhow. Any other ideas or cheap solution like a tape deck with aux inputs? Thanks again.
