Bass problem eludes CAR TOYS installers

since you seem to know a few things about PDX amps, maybe you can help me. I blew my sub a few months ago and have been running 4 channels ever since. In that time I have developed a dreadful pop not only at turn-on but when I change songs/stations, etc. Does not having anything for the 5th...

    please halp with pop!

I know it's not the best I just got it dirt cheap I figured I'd try it out. Aside from the pop, which happens with or without it, it actually works pretty well. That's exactly right. I haven't tried disconnecting them from the head unit and testing for pop. I suspect they play a role in this...

    please halp with pop!

I think it has about .2 ohms internally. And yes it pops on or off, RCa's or no RCA's I'd love to solve the problem for that low price, I just can't help but wonder what's causing it and how to eliminate it altogether.

Question on isobaric box for 2 Infinity 860w's, want tuned around 37-40hz

Interesting, so that cube at 30hz is looking like a solid route to go. It is a tad peaky but definitely better than not being able to port it. Thanks for taking the time to run that through for me, now I have a direction to head in with this design. Bassboxpro was showing a similar group delay...

    please halp with pop!

That was the last thing I tried, to no avail :/ Would the head unit still be able to induce that pop if the RCA's were removed on the amp side? I was running a HU with grounded RCA's before with the same problem, which came along sometime after I blew my old sub and began running my 5 channel to...

Question on isobaric box for 2 Infinity 860w's, want tuned around 37-40hz

You aren't lyin about the port length, one of the times I changed the port size or Fb it said something like 109 inches haha. So are you saying it should be 1 cube if I do the face-to-face iso, or standard mounting? Some of the designs I was looking at were awfully peaky. I'll try playing around...

    please halp with pop!

bumpatizing this, I tried removing the RCAs and turning on the amp, the pop is still there, only slightly evident. The higher the volume, the louder the pop. Just checked my ground, dmm indicates it's fine. I could move it to a seatbelt bolt, but that could interfere with my new box. Any...

ha, he said gobs. So you're saying your headlights flash brighter when the bass hits?

Question on isobaric box for 2 Infinity 860w's, want tuned around 37-40hz

Alright so after my Alpine PDX ate this little shallow 8" Earthquake I was running, I'm replacing that with 2 Infinity Reference 860w's, 250 watts rms. They're nice little subs for short money and had some of the best reviews for their size, also they're 250 watts apiece is a perfact match for...

    please halp with pop!

I just went to test and tune my system with a new alpine HU (CDA 9856) and an SSL S4EQ, 4 band EQ. So I have 2 channel rca's running between the 2 and then 6 channels running out to my pdx-v9. The turn-on pop is literally endangering my speakers it's so ferocious...and the higher the volume on...
