    spend another 3 hours on this , re earthed everything to a known good earth point , No change Its going in the bin

    Actually worked this morning all the way to work then when i turned the car off and on no sound ! I could maybe bypass the power wiring and run it to the battery or run both power wires to the perm live on a switch so its not on all the time but not sure on the amp's power since its built in...

    spent my whole weekend on it and its a real pain in the *** to get it out each time , Someone on the Z Forum mentioned this , does it sound like it could be the issue ? "the Z uses a remote powered amp, that the HU gets a severe spike (low then high) of power which is causing the problem"

    letter "H" on that pic ? Yep , connected that to the ground wire of the headunits loom and then a cable from that to a ground point. I thought about grounding them both separatly but then why would it work at all ( i.e before the engine is started )
