Thanks for the info, I think I'll drop it to 4 ohms and see how it sounds.

I am currently running a Kicker DX500.1 amp to 2 12" JLW0 8 ohm subs. At the moment I have a wired in series which I believe is producing a 16 Ω load. Just wondering if I would be better off running them in parallel down to a 4 Ω load or is it's OK to keep them at 16 Ω ?

I have a Kicker ZR600.2 I would sell for $150 +shipping.

So I found out the module I have now is ZRX. I found someone selling an SWX with 60Hz and 80Hz chips. Think that will work better?

Its an old school kicker zr1000.2, is it not .5 ohm stable? I picked up for $300 about 8 years ago when my Beast amp caught fire lol

.5 ohm stable, I have the power to back it (not that I need for one JL) with a 160 amp alt., yellow top under the hood and 2x kinetics in the trunk. My power set up was for 2x JL W7 12, but I now have to make this car my dd which my daughter rides in so I want to tone it down and just fill in...

I know how to build a good box. The subs are each in their own single chamber, the JL has 1.75ft^3 internal volume and the other has 1.25ft^3 internal volume. Both boxes are sealed since I am more into SQ than SPL.

I will just have to get another amp. The dvc is a JL 12w3v1-d4 and the svc is a Lexon(never heard of it and cant find any info on it). Appreciate the input, thanks for such a quick response.

About 10 min north of Albany. I was thinking of using magnet and basket, but upgraded everything else. eg. instead of 2" voice coils, maybe 2.5" coils.

Its an Audiobahn aw1200q. The cone and vc's are not that great, but the basket is not bent and the magnet is still strong. I was thinking new cone, bigger voice coils, and better surround. Just a thought as it seems a waste to throw out a perfectly good basket and magnet if it can be reused.
