Honestly I'd look in the sub's manual or online and have a box built to alpine spec I have a type x (ny backup amp mrp450 400 rms runnin it) and had it in a spec built enclosure and it made my roof occsillate about an inch or so when my moonroof was open u should be pleased

I got the refs and they have great sound quality as well but like u said they lack low end punch. So what do u do? Pair them with a type x sub a 10 in my case tada!!

I haven't heard a hertz sub but I got a type x 10 as well don't think I'd like to buy a different sub especially when ur vibrating overhangs at a strip mall with one 10

If u have room around where the mids are u could possibly take a bose box out of a maxima door or one out of a BMW I seen a pair at the junkyard ima swipe for my honda of course I don't know if u have the room but it should help ur mids reach deeper
