I am trying to measure the output of my amps and and getting very very low watts output. I read the way to do it was to meter the speaker outputs to get your volts AC and multiplay that by 10 then divide by your impedance. So... I get a maximum of 8 volts AC from the leads x 10 = 80volts / 4ohms...

I have a crappy ole bazooka 4chan amp that I am trying to get working for a mate but the only positive is that it power's on... when I have the speakers hooked up but no rca or hi level input's even going into the amp it immediately starts to move my speakers back and forth just from the raw...

turn the volume up?? wow what insight! thanks bro........ you are just so much help thanks..... The aux is quiet to the point where i can MAX the deck vol and still get no obv clipping.. where as the cd output makes my go deaf at 25 / 40 on some tracks. Also what do you mean "loading" issue...

I noticed that when I play cd's they seem to make my system explode to life but as soon as I play from the aux in thing get quite a few db's lower. I know this is also very common with most aux inputs so what can I do to remedy this? add a line driver before the input to the ipod and the deck...

oh also i see their is no 60 hz sine wave.. only 50 and 70. Why is that? and would you reccommend sine wave or sweep?

ok thanks for that. However i see that the site has their test tones in mp3 format.. does that not defeat the purpose of having a perfect test tone? I mean mp3's are compressed and some of the low end is cut out no? how does it work then? whould it not be better to use a pure .wav?
