    Plexiglass?

    I don't think I've heard of crystallite, but Lexan is the strongest. It's almost like bullet proof glass, I know they use it in the city busses for window glass.

    wiring neons to light switch

    Cold cathode lights wont work in a car on a 12V system. I've looked into it, they are to be used on a 110V house electrical system, like that in a pc. Unless you use a power converter they won't work.
