I watched a podcast and "they" believe in this concept similar to tribute. Basically it's we won't kill the infidels as long as they pay us. So when we give these people food and shelter, they don't look at it like "the nice Americans (or Europeans) helping us get settled", they interrupt that as rightfully theirs.

The left has lost their minds. We've been saying we're incompatible and they refuse to believe it. We point to a thousand years if conflict a they refuse to believe it. We point to the Israeli conflicts and they refuse to believe it. Now it's happening in their own backyards and still they refuse to believe.

Kinda reminds me of Siegfried & Roy trying to domesticate a tiger but we all know how that ends.
