Funny thing is I remember a few months Rob ago posted EVERY economist was predicting tariffs wouldn't work, doom and gloom, etc. Seems he forgot what EVERY economist was predicting a few months ago. And it isn't Sleepy Joe, that causes too much confusion. Wrong Way Joe or Which Way Do I Go Joe are subject to less confusion because they are literal.

So EVERY economist was wrong??? They're reporting inflation at 2.7%, but I thought tariffs were supposed to get passed along to consumers. 2.7% is a normal rate of inflation, in line with 3% GDP growth and Fed targets.

So how can we explain tariffs + normal inflation? I've heard some suggest that manufacturers, exporters, importers, retailers, etc are absorbing the cost. This is something I suggested months ago, but I was clearly wrong because EVERY economist + Always Right Rob disagreed. We can dismiss this "absorbed cost theory" because tariffs are a tax and this would mean Trump taxed businesses. As we know Team Blue loves the idea of taxing businesses and would (without hesitation) support any policy that lead to taxation of business. Since Team Blue has not started singing the praises of tariffs, we can only conclude that businesses have not absorbed the cost of tariffs/taxes. Plus Always Right Rob & EVERY economist told us the tariffs would get passed thru to consumers.

So what happened to the tariffs??? I think the Evil Orange Guy is printing money and "pre-paying" the tariffs to hide the cost from the public. Anybody else have any theories????

Incorrect. I posted that EVERY economist attributed the April markets decline directly to Trump's announcement of his dumbass tariff idea, that he got from that fraud Navarro.
