Current events discussion

So you want me to just accept your claim of what Biden said , but when I actually post Trump's words verbatim, it's "fake news".

Interesting perspective you have there. No wonder you believe everything Trump says.
Nope...I just want you to accept you're a waste of time...

It is a VERY measurable statement, just like being able to describe a boxer as the most accomplished, a football team as the winningest, a super genius as the most intelligent, a person as the wealthiest, a stock as the fastest growing, etc.

The US economy is not some intangible thing like "the greatest COUNTRY", "the greatest athlete", "the most emotive singer", "the best tasting pizza". It is made up of a number of metrics that you can measure and prove over time.
And those metrics prove that we did not have the greatest economy in the history of the world during the Trump administration.

As POTUS and the self-proclaimed smartest and best at pretty much everything, a statement about the US economy is not and should not be "opinion".
Direct personal knowledge... sure, that could be he knows someone personally who walked up and grabbed a woman by the vagflaps. There's your personal knowledge.

So I guess you don't think our economy is great then Rob? You seem to praise it when your statistical Democrats are in office. So is it great or is Trump a liar? Or, are you a liar?

Interesting way to defend Trump of his lies. Speak about anything BUT the lies.

And he finds it acceptable. Something to brag about doing, even. What a peach.

Trump is a liar. We did not have the best economy in the history of the world when he was in office.
I am personally doing better than I was during Trump. But I do not consider my self representative of "America", so I turn to the numbers.
The numbers say we are doing better as a whole than we were under Trump.

Before you jump to polls that say "people FEEL", don't bother. You can FEEL all you want that 2+2=3, but that doesn't change the mathematical fact that 2+2=4.

RobGMN, do you feel....... cheated?

I feel it opens up the door and sets a major precedent for every future case where a large bond is set. Just tell the judge "no" and another judge will back you up and give you your way.

I wonder if I robbed one of his businesses and got caught, could I just say "No" to paying all the money back
and only give back 1/4 of it?
That seems like a good deal to me.
Why would the courts cower like this and drop the bond so much? I mean with all the "facts" and "evidence" you would think they had him by the danglers.
I guess you don't realize that they actually proved he overstated the value of the properties. Did you miss that whole discussion?
40 Wall Street was appraised at $540M in 2015. Trump immediately inflated it to $735.4M, without anything to back or explain the difference.
That is against the law.
They overstated the occupancy of his building, which made it appear financially healthier than it was. Whitewash on a rotted wall. That's against the law.
Oh, he also stated his personal living space was 3-4x the size it actually is. Trump's own CFO even said they overestimated the value of the apartment by "give or take $200 million".
That's against the law.
These things are called "financial crimes" and "fraud".

But it seems you have no problem with them at all. Just smart business, right?

And whether you like it or not, it is 100% ok if he finds it acceptable.

Why do so many people disagree with you? Also, why do you try to shut down responses before you get them? Knock it off.

Weird because people above that judge were telling him he is wrong and that he can't do what he was doing, he did it anyway and look there, he was overruled.

If I have a car and Kelly values it at $10,000 I can value it at $20,000 if I want to. 100% legal.

A POTUS who finds ****** assault acceptable, is 100% OK? Interesting.
Why do so many people disagree with you? Also, why do you try to shut down responses before you get them? Knock it off.
Hahahaha. "Also, why do you try to shut down responses before you get them? Knock it off."
The irony is palpable.

What people "above the judge" are we talking about?
Who was trying to influence the judge's decision in the hearing?

Sure you can. Until you get a loan for $20,000, then the bank finds it's worth $10,000 and you committed fraud.
Or until you get caught hiding known issues with the car so you can dump and run.

Or when you lie to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars about the value of your building, so you can secure loans with that building as collateral. And then you default on the loan, and the lender gets stiffed b/c the collateral they now own is not worth what you claimed.

Were you awake for the housing crisis of 2008?

It's not ****** assault if neither party objects. Man, you really want to label him as a criminal don't you.

Ironic that you ignored answering.

The Appellate Court.

It's not fraud, if I get the $20,000 loan then do I not have to pay it back? Did they have to give me the loan? Again, you are reaching.

Geeeee you gonna blame Trump?
