Current events discussion

Again, pulling only the info you want to hear.

Trumps attorneys did know and, of course, the judge wouldn't hear it. Look it up.
Wrong. The attorneys from both sides agreed to it. Jimi talked about this and provided the verification
According to the metrics you used, I guess the economy is going great. Here, I thought facts like everything costing over 15% more, higher interest rates, much higher cost of living, etc... was common sense that the economy sucks. I guess you forgot we were close to a recession going into 2023.
Apparently, you have a hard time finding facts, so here you go.
I refer the the metrics of the economy that economists have used to tell us the state of the economy for probably longer than I have been alive.

Like I said, anyone who wants to dispute the numbers and the way they are calculated, can certainly do so.

What metrics do YOU think an economy should be judged by?
And if everything costs more, but people are earning more for a net gain, is that a bad economy or a good one?

Were we better off in recession under Trump or inflation under Biden?

So let's assume Sleepy Joe doesn't push for lock downs and the country doesn't lock down. How does that equate to lower fuel prices and lower inflation?
Many, dems blame the war as being the reason for gas prices being so high. What they all forget, which the republicans knew would happen, the gas prices were already higher before the war started. Long story short, a quick research will give you the long story, COVID shutdown caused an extremely low demand for fuel. Many workers were laid off. When restrictions started to lift, there became a huge fuel shortage because they couldn't get the employees because they were being threatened to lose their jobs if they didn't get vaccinated. Well, in the meantime, Biden said a few things that ticked off OPEC, who was already mad about the shutdown. Now you have the war that we are spending so much of our resources on. And to add on top of that, Biden's green deals are making fuel manufacturing more expensive. Look at California. There's a reason gas is higher everywhere in California than the national average. Good news is, If Newsom wins the presidency, he will share all his great plans with all the other states.

"“We’re moving away from counterterrorism and counterinsurgency. We want to be postured for large-scale combat operations,” Wormuth told reporters on Tuesday."

I think tanks are largely gonna be useless unless darpa gets their plasma shield going or tanks have anti-aerial lasers. Even with that, how are you gonna defeat like 100x $200 drones packed full of explosives?

I believe tanks and training isn't going to help Ukraine. Russia has weapons that are almost as good as our and their guys have years of training. Again, this is a war the Russia will win as soon as Putin says "I'm done playing around."

Unless all of europe like goes in, like have an eastern front again, yikes. That'll make the big fireworks come out 👀

Rob... You are one delusional person. Now where, except for your media choices and democrat lords, say there was a recession under Trump. Trump bought back industry to the US. That's how you avoid a recession. Stop reading your "pick-and-chose" garbage and take an economics course.

I would not say Russian weapons are on par with Western ones. One of the easiest representations of this is their general weapon accuracy. I think a better argument for your point is that Russia has always played the numbers game, going back to WW2. Their strategy revolves around overwhelming the opponent with quantity, while Western strategy revolves around technological superiority for the most part. For anyone that wants to argue this keep in mind India is begging the French to sell them tank sight because the ones in the Russian tanks they bought constantly keep overheating and malfunctioning and that is just one example.

I still think ww3 will only happen if china wants Taiwan back, too much of an impact on the global economy to not spark it
Well, my response to that is look at what they're doing in the South China Sea; China has made that into a massive water fort almost, obviously preparing for a huge military defense there. Extremely militarized artificial islands.

To that, I point to the lack of real-world combat they have and their subpar equipment. Also, those man-made islands are constantly sinking they tend to be a maintenance nightmare. I do find the Marine 2030 reorganization plan unique to counter the China threat they want to downsize

If I skip all the small talk and say what I really think, I think war is now used by AI to keep us busy killing each other while AI military systems are developed more and more and AI integrates itself into world wide society and into actual human bodies. That's my honest opinion as of now; the real end game here is to merge humanity physically with AI into the internet of bodies, and this seemingly coming war and currency collapse is all part of it.
