Thank you. I'm on the fence either way. I'm happy being a Lieutenant, I know my job. Becoming Captain means more responsibility and more liability

Yes and yes. It would put me in a higher tax bracket but I would be able to retire in 3 years compared to 10 years. We are on Law Enforcement retirement which goes off your highest salary. However, you must maintain that position for 3 years.

Well I've been doing this for 10 years. Most of the inmates you meet are not as hard as they act. Most of them will treat you with respect as long as you do the same. And always keep your word. If you say you are gonna do something, do it. Cause they have all day to sit there and stew in anger.

I've met prison guards who've said the same, everybody finds a way to get along.

Well I got the offer today. I accepted pending pay. It has to start with an 8xxxx. That was my stipulation.
