Honestly the government shouldn't be involved with marriage at any level...

Libertarianism works in some sort of Ivory Tower academic exercise, just like socialism or any other number of "ism's." Realistically, millions of couples all with their own personal contracts drawn up or no written contract all... I'm sure the courts would love that. FYI, I'm pretty sure even in 1789 gov't was involved in marriage.

‘“The position of the Chinese government and people on the Taiwan question is consistent, and resolutely safeguarding China’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity is the firm will of the more than 1.4 billion Chinese people,” Chinese ruler Xi Jinping told President Joe Biden during their phone call on July 28, according to the Chinese foreign ministry. “The public opinion cannot be defied. Those who play with fire will perish by it.”

“Perish”?’

‘There are no longer any safe options. The most dangerous, at least in the long run, is for Speaker Pelosi to back down. By backing down, she will legitimize the most belligerent elements in the Chinese capital by showing everyone else that threats work.’

Fair enough, but the same rules of language would apply no matter who you were asking.
I understand. Being direct or formal in posting in a view oriented thread on a car audio forum isn't a priority for me. People either will or won't understand what I am saying or they will or won't take what I am saying wrong. When people speak to me in person they think I have attitude all the time because of the inflection and tone of my voice. I blame social media and cell phones directly. Website chat boards don't help either. People have forgotten how to react to people in conversation. The little things have been lost to texting. Peoples first instincts are to flip out or take things wrong. There is no emotion in text. That is why we add punctuation marks. Unfortunately Americans have become so dumb to the English language that even when they are used they don't understand why they were used. Throw an emoji in there though and you may reach people today. So with all that being said... It's not a priority for me to be perfect in my post when people may or may not understand the correct way of phrasing or speaking. Let's just say I am "willfully posting with ignorant intent".

So when the press secretary says transitioning to clean energy will create jobs, how do they mean this?

Is it after people lose their jobs because there will be no gas for them to power the vehicles they have creating massive unemployment that they will then be able to transition to the "Green New Jobs"? How will they get to these newly created job? I am just trying to figure out how transitioning to clean energy doesn't cause mass unemployment. Anyone?

Trump. Biden’s far from perfect, but he doesn’t act like the POS Trump is.
Fvcking ex-POTUS. Have a shred of decorum.
Did he put a “Trump 2024” sign on Ivana’s grave, asking for donations yet?

Generally x-presidents stay away from politics when they're done. However, in Trump's case he isn't done. He plans to make at least one more run at it and with the USSC stacked 6-3, I suspect (like his hero Putin), he'll turn it into a 2 term stretch if possible and possible strike the Presidential Term Limit altogether.

Some jobs will be lost, some will be created. I don't think it's going to cause "mass unemployment."

If they actually ended fossil fuels, it would have to happen. The majority own internal combustion engines. Unless they plan to even swap millions upon millions of vehicles, it's not going to end the way these environmental supporters think it will. Wait till we have to go back to cutting down trees for firewood, not because it looks and smells good but for our very survival. These green idiots don't see that stuff though do they.

‘As of June, 61% of Americans — roughly 157 million adults — lived paycheck to paycheck, according to a new LendingClub report. That’s up from 58% who reported living paycheck to paycheck in May. A year ago, the number of adults who felt stretched too thin was 55%.’

Ouch.
In 2020, well over 255 million paychecks stopped altogether.
  • The ILO estimates working hours lost in 2020 were equivalent to 255 million full-time jobs, leading to $3.7 trillion in lost labor income.
