Welcome!! This Hobby seems to become an addiction at times. Take your time on finding the culprits and get them taken care of. Lots of good peeps on here that can recommend resolutions from experiencing the issues themselves. Ive been in this Hobby for over 25 years and still learning. Never hurts to ask for help from time to time. Take your time and dont rush things

Any more info on the system? What size subs? Box size and tuning? Which SALT amp? What are you wired to? What are your goals?

Currently I have two set-ups, and under seat and another when I want to get down just a little more. My under seat is a Gately with four of Bobby's Relentless 8's. They def get down at .5 on a Salt-4. I just refinished that enclosure to match the accents of my truck. Rustic distressed rat rodish red that many might not like but I dig it. My other enclosure is one from Next Level Fabrications for two 12" Sundown ZV5's. Currently on the Salt-4 at 1 ohm and they need "Mo Powa". SALT-8 would have been ideal for both set-ups to be honest. Room on back wall for the amps is my biggest concern. I did get a seat lift that brings the seat up and forward from LMI Welding. I have a SALT-6 in the garage ready to go in so I can run them at 1ohm and the 8's at 2 ohms. Then the 8's will actually be a little underpowered but that's ok because that's only in when I have family in town or take trips. I bought a metal stand on wheels to move each enclosure in and out solo. I'm running a Mechman370/Big 3/112ah Headway from Next level Fabrications, all OFC zero. Front stage is 6.5" JL Audio C3 comps and 6.5" Sundown Audio NeoPro V3's in the rear door. SALT-200.4 on the mids and highs. Doors are heavily sound deadened but still need to work on the floor and backwall. Need to order a sheet of PVC to build another amp wall and start the amp display "beautification" process. Still need to wire in this battery delete I just got from Nex t Level Fab also. Tuning is hopefully in the near future. Always more to do..never stops, but you know this.

Everything looks great and you have some top level equipment. Do you like that 4 - 8" box? I've heard it and wasn't overly impressed. Awesome craftsmanship but the port is too big or something. I wouldn't pay $1,200 for it either. You definitely know your stuff. I heard that those SALY amps need to be wired to .5 to get some real power out of them.

You must have heard an underpowered one or one with smaller subs. Honestly I would put this against any underseat on the market. The wind coming out the port is crazy! Did you see the video with Meade where he threw a CD in and it came out in pieces? That was with B2's. Seems the Gately, Sundown X8's and B2's do well in this enclosure. I won't argue that it is expensive! Subs are about 400 a piece now if I recall. I'd go Sundown X8 V3's if I had to buy more, price wise.

I didn't take offence, I got thick skin. Hell I talked shit to a guy on FB because he said he'd never spend $400 and on a set of components when he could buy 4 sets for the same price at the parts store, lol. I said, "and your system sounds like it". We actually kept talking and he was cool.

I think the box is too small for 4 - 8's and the port is too big. My buddy has one just laying in his shop because the owner didn't like it. Maybe the specs on yours is different than the one that I heard. How many cubes is it? What is it tuned to?

if it got low enough for me I wouldn't have spent another 3 grand on ZV5's and their enclosure. But the Gately is incredible for an underseat enclosure.

I said that I didn't like it. I did not say that it was garbage. I heard the box and it wasn't to MY liking. I hope that he loves it and it bangs for him. I didn't say that Gately products were garbage or that his company was garbage like Cool did. And I didn't offend the OP like Cool did. I also asked him the specs and tuning of the box because maybe the one that I heard was different than his. Cool made a blanket statement because he doesn't like the SKAR owner or their products. Gately is a bad *** box builder. One of the best out there. I personally didn't care for the sound of this particular box so I asked the OP if he did. Good morning everybody!

ZV5's are nasty. I run 4 - 8's but I'm in a standard cab. Behind the seat.
