I think an evil part of government was involved, for sure. Just like every other event that got us into war, like the Lusitania sinking that started ww1 that was secretly carrying weapons, we had intel that Japan was going to attack Pearl Harbor and the top seemed to allow it to happen, Vietnam was started with an absolute lie with the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which was a complete fabrication that got us started on a horrible war where many young Americans went to die, and many other died because of our actions. I believe in war for a good cause, but many times war is just a racket. There's so many lies.
