nice install very clean but i cant believe you try to compete with it its sure not a good set up for that i would of thought it was just for looks beacause i can get 152.db with my 2 cheap ass rockford HE 12's and my MEMPHIS 1000D amp in my 98 jeep grand cherokee
Please remember that I have a top 4 finish at db drag finals under my belt....
I highly doubt that someone is legitimately hitting 152 db plus with 2 12" woofers and a 1000 watt amp in a SMALL SEALED box.
It is very easy to manipulate a big ported box to have a 4-8db peak in the response. From that you can build a "one note wonder." I have seen systems with 2 -12" woofers in huge vented enclosures doing much closer to a 158 with 2000 watts a woofer.
These people are at the top of their class in DB drag racing and most (I wont say all...) could never play music on their systems without blowing speakers.
In defense of this install the woofers are in small sealed enclosures (1.15 CU Feet). And are receiving peak power of about 1000 watts each. The enclosure is very inefficient. The benefit and the reason the setup was designed this was to play music. Loud Music and to maintain some sound quality (those you that know me, know that I would never use any speaker over a 7" in a true sound quality system). So when I say sound quality I mean in the sense of having distinct sounding bass notes with some sign of "attack." The other thing to remember is the truck was setup for Demo use. Not competing in db drags, not for sound Q. It was designed for use in Audiobahns booth at shows. It was a fun project and has seen 2 Sema shows, 2 CES shows, a Best of Show award at import revolution, and plenty of 1st place finishes at car shows.
Hopefully those that doubt how loud this truck really is can sit in it at a show someday and hear how loud 150db when playing music.
