Those caps definately make a big difference. I went for a while with this and a couple of other vehicles without caps and never knew what I was missing. I never drop below 14.5v even with a full vehicle and system load. My alternator thanks me.
According to knowledgable people in the forum, they will say that your alternator is waiting to break on you.. but then again, I use caps too (because I have one, not cause I want one)
what a mess... but looks nice the wires.... are those audiopipes... cause i use audiopipe too and it work great for me... the diference is that my alternator wants to kill me
no they're not audiopipes, everything is stinger. wires, terminals, caps, etc. check this out though: I've been running 2 punch 900s (each 360 watts nom@2 ohm), 1 autotek mx250(460 watts nom@ 2ohm), and 1 visonik can't remember model but 150 watts x2 @4ohm nom, and those two caps on a 90 amp alternator. although the alternator is at it's limit, it's not showing ANY signs of failure. eventually I'm going to put in a second 200 amp alt once I can get a bracket made for it.
i know it's a mess, and I've rewired everything but I'm not going to make this a show vehicle and don't show any of my interior off. as long as the wire is solid and I don't have any power problems, I'm happy. thanks for your comments.
eventually this truck will take a 180 degree turn.
