I run a sealed 2.25 15" RD Elite with 2lbs of polyfil

What would the panel dimensions of a 2.25 box be?

I think sealed sounds a lot better...and is definitely worth it considering the added cost/space requirements of going ported.

Depends on the thickness of your MDF. With 3/4" MDF mine is about 24W x 12D x 18H. Best way is to use a box calc like found here at 12volt.com

It's all based off the recommended size by the manufacturer of your sub model. Go too large and your low end will quickly drop out.

When I had around ~28hz tuning, I was playing 10-20hz signals with teh fresh BTL.

Nothing like a note thats playing full tilt and is lower than what the human ear can detect (

i perfer sealed it may go down a couple DBs but you get tighter more accurate bass IMO also sealed is alot better if you have space issues as i do

Kicker recommends anywhere between 1 to 4.6 cubic feet for the cvx. Should I go 2^3 or 2.5?

Seriously, if you ever have the opportunity, try out an IB setup or try using a sealed sub with either a linkwitz transform or EQ set to mimic a linkwitz transform. They'll both change the way you think about extremely low bass. The linkwitz transform requires a ton of power and a subwoofer with high thermal power handling, but it delivers.

Ported and enclosures bandpass will always be the best value in terms of db/dollar, but sealed and IB have their benefits.
