what is bass reflex?

Im looking into getting Focals 11" 27h subs but says they are made for bass reflex enclosures???? whats that?

also has anyone heard these subs? are they comparible to JL's W3v3 or better or worse?

Heh...seems like you were viewing my FS thread. Bass reflex is just another way of saying ported enclosure. Never heard W3's before but I was surprised by the amount of power the 27a's take (more than their max rating).
