Hello I'm new to audio game I just got a 1100 watt boss mono amp, and a 12" kicker sub hooked it all up I have 8 gauge power wire and length 16 gauge speaker wire on negative and postive terminals (as I didn't have thicker gauge wire... I got power and everything to my amp but sounds like crap nothing like my old home theatre system I had and then after running for a minute today the sub wasnt working at all and the protected light came on the sub I really don't know what it is but I want it fixed quick... Any helps appreciated

yeah, as big scott said, boss amps are junk. theres a reason that a 1100watt amp is only $70

ill bet that amp dont even do 300 watts rms..

getting loud requires a lil bit more money.. but if you read around the forum, youll quickly figure out what you need to satisfy your wants.

btw, do not look into any amps for $70 lol

I'm in Canada so everything cost more but doesn't even sound like either are working I had cheap sub in my room and sound better it just raddled not even a thump and my sub is a 12" comp rt I don't need a lot of the system just good enough for a single cab

im def beating a dead horse here, but kicker is a mainstream brand.. not the greatest sub for the $$

Dont feel bad, when i foirst joined, i asked id i should buy rockford fosgate p2 subs lol, that said, i was directed towards companys like dd, sundown audio, sound qubed etc.

all very nice products. i ended up getting 2 sundown sa-12s cheaper than my local audio shop quoted me on the RF p2's.

you could always google audio competitions and see what everyones running. thats why i went with sundown. And, the owner seems like a cool guy to talk to. just my opinion

Upload pics of your ground.

Turn your car off, then disconnect the negative off the battery and wait a minute then plug it back in and see if it plays again.

Sometimes it can be a pinched wire or for most new guys the ground is no good.

2400w x 4 peak and 120w rms x 4. That has to be world record dynamic right there 🤣.
