Stuck between two amps. Any help?

So i have an alpine type R 12", rated at 600wRms. It is the dual 4 ohm version so i need an amp around 600wRms at 2 ohms. I am stuck between two, one is the Alpine MRX-M50, rated at 500watt at 2ohms. And the other is a Kicker EX1000.1 rated at 700watt rms. They are both the same price. I want to know if its gonna be safe to get the Kicker and power it a 700wRms. People claim they power their R's over 700wRms all the time, but could be bs. The sub is going in a ported enclosure 2cubic ft at 32hz. Even know the kicker is more powerful, is it still a good amp?

I have a Kicker 400.1. Had it for five years and never had one problem with it. Great amp.

i vote kicker....ur Type R should handle that amp fine. If it starts getting warm you can always turn the gain down a little bit.

Yeah im thinking the same because i dont want to be underpowering the sub. If i go with the kicker should i set the gains with a DMM as if its a 600watt speaker, or 700watt? eg 600x2 = 1200, square root of 1200 = 34.64v or 700w = 37.41v. Is that the right way to make sure the amps putting out a specific wattage?

I'd set it up for 700w

And I doubt the SN will be noticeable on subs

That Alpine has nice specs with the 114db rating, but that Kicker has more juice, and Most Kicker gear is under rated/or always has been.Id go Kicker out of the two amps you chose

Kicker is underrated on a lab test. not real world. My old ZX2500 said 2800 on the BS, clamped a bit over 2400
