You're talking to me like I don't know that ...
I was mocking the original premise of this thread, which is that sealed is for sound quality and ported is for SPL, which obviously is false ...
Not to you, but there are lots of people on this forum that probably DON'T know any better. I get your point regardless.

I'm 38 and I love it loud. My cars sytem is loud (ported) Home theatre is loud (ported) My Harley is F*cking loud (Vans and Hines Shorty Shotguns pipes) no baffle.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif muahaahaa.... And my wife is the loudest of them all.

Or wait a goshdarn minute. Maybe all my sh*t is'nt really loud at all. Maybe it sounds loud cause I'm old.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

i have an 8" driver in a rear loaded horn in my apartment, and it's only 150w and shakes my entire living room, and sounds FANTASTIC

i'd love to build a horn for a single 15 in my car........

i just have no clue how to actually TUNE one of those beasts

And as far as ported vs. sealed in relation to age, i think it has less to do with the age of the individual, and more to do with the lenth of time they've been building car stereos

at some point, the loudness gets to be a bit much, and you start thinking about the SQ realm of things

Dont want to start a war......I have just observed that the more mature a person gets in car audio, they just tone it down a bit. Thats all. I have a very modest system for sure, but ya know what??? I like it. It sounds really good, and gives me the nice thump I like.......much better than the 6x9s in the rear deck.

When I was in my 20's I had nicer systems......with multiple amps and more powerful subs and ported boxes. I guess as i got older, I just go tired of overkill (in my opinion) Im not knocking having BOOOMing, LOUD systems at all, I did it for a long time. I was just making a casual observation.

Have a good one, and sorry about the truck comment. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
