need a little professional guidance on my set up.

OK I have been doing car audio for quite some time now, I am a audiophile by ear but never had the funds to back my wants. Now I am building a mild little system, I have front hi-energy Hertz components, rear deici coax. I'm running them on a Hertz EP4. I left the stock HU so I can utilize steering wheel controls. I have a GTA iPod interface as well. It sounds amazing until about half volume and then starts fading. I've been thinking either I need to throw a larger amp on them or would spending the money to change out the factory HU make the difference. I have this all in a nissan murano so the kit to change the HU is almost 300 bucks.Ive been searching for another EP4 to split the front and rear but no luck. Any ideas am I looking at this correctly? I'm just not getting the volume and clarity at the higher volumes that I was hoping for. Thanks in advance. I'm in the market for a bigger 4 channel or another EP4 and will sell or trade my EP4 if its of any interest.

Nobody...........? Where's all the pros or experienced guys at. Is my factory HU just kill in the signal and distorting the output or is the amp just not enough? Would doing a eq of some sort make a difference, I'm really trying to keep the factory HU its the Bose crap. Is it even worth going through all the trouble and money to do so?

When you say the sound starts fading, what do you mean? If it's what I think it is, it could be the noise cancellation/compensation circuitry in the factory headunit. Don't know if your vehicle has it or not but if it does then there are generally two/three microphones usually mounted in the headliner that need to be disconnected if you are planning on keeping the factory head.

Meaning, when I go past half volume it just starts sounding dirty and distorted. With the power I have it doesn't seem like something is right. It should be a lot louder. Its not much louder than it was factory with the Bose amp and paper cone junk Bose speakers. Its a lot cleaner just no clarity at anything more than half volume. Amp was proffesionslly installed and set. I'll have to take a look into this noise cancellation stuff. Thanks

No noise cancel stuff anywhere either the 60watts RMS to 120-150 watt speakers isn't enough or the factory HU is sending crap signals to the amp at higher volumes. I am running a 4 channel line driver as well it was pretty exspensive.

Ran into this on a maxima hu. 2 choices after market hu which is what I would do or Jl audio clean sweep (if they still make it)

BTW there are plenty of hu's that have steering wheel control abilities.

Yea the HU kit is over 300 bucks and I'll still have to buy a HU it's an expensive route. That's why I'm tryin to figure out a way to utilize what I have. I don't think it's an amp issue it all new equipment it's only been installed for less than a week and maybe a 1.5-2 hours tops of play time. These hertz components should just scream I know they did in the shop, there just as clear as they were in the shop but no where near the volume without distorting. It was a all professionally installed.
