Think again...straight from the horses mouth.
me: the truth about the destroyers...what did Tuan (Toxic Tuan of Team Toxic Bass) have to do with them..how many were made? where did the motors come from?
him: He bought them all. Well, the shop he worked for did. He bought a bunch personally though. We made like 50? 60? Concept CSP motors that were supposed to be engraved but werent. When Tony from Concept found out that the manufacturer of the motors wanted Concept to ship them to RE, he gouged L's into the back of all of them "Li".
Overview: Same exact motors except Concept's were engraved and had screens on their pole vents...RE used a 12-spoke basket that would only accept an 8" spider (which take 3" coils so the softparts had to be cut for the 4" coil) and Concept used a 6-spoke basket that would accept a 10" spider that held a 4" coil fine
The cut spiders is what held the destroyer back..uneven edges glued to teh former and you didnt get the full ammount of travel out of the diver because of the narrower spider.
Although it is rumored that Destroyers take 2500rms they are actually only rated at 1500
If your buddy wants a 4th CSP, i have a CSP (engraved) motor and 6-spoke basket for 150+shipping. I also have 2 destroyers (1 working and 1 non) I'm rebuilding here shortly.
...and now you know...the
rest...of the story
