Oh yeah...

Alright, second time around breaking my **** dustcap for my PSi reconed Cascade Omega.

1) Would a carbon fiber cap be stronger then a polyproplyne?

2) Where can I buy an 8" cap of any form, the 6" one has glue that doesn't come off so hot so I'd rather just get a cap to cover it.

3) Is there any type of epoxy I can use instead of the PSi rubber stuff? Cuz that's what causes the failure of the cap.

Some subs can not have the dust cap glued on w/ the rubber glue. Too much pressure under the cap. Id use ca or e6000 on the next one.

Go to home depot.. and buy 'Goop' carpenters glue.. be very careful not to get it anywhere near the Gap... just glue the Dust cap on..

You need to put a little on the cap and a little on the cone.. let it set for a few mins before you actually put together.. that will help it cure..

The stuff works and is stronger yet flexible than any speaker apoxy, glue or resign used.. I actually fixed an old school 15" Rockford that foam surround ripped.. and the same for a 12" Audiobahn..

Cheap, quick and effective..

That's what I was looking for.

Now who can help me find an 8" cap and compare the strengths

Ya it'll be a concave dustcap, has a pole coming up. Just need to reglue a cap and get a new cap, and need ideas for good glue and bigger caps

That's what I thought but I've broken 2 poly caps.. I'm assuming it was a glue failure though cuz it partly held on.

CA glue from psi $20 makes me sick lol.

Ive never had any issues w/ the psi polys or ca glue, try e6000 it like 4 bucks a tube from hobby lobby. You can use it for your surround and cap. or 1 min expoxy in that self mixing tube but you will have to be quick. After i glue my cap on i leave the weight on it for 12-24 hours to be safe when using ca

Goop is like 10 bucks at Home Depot.. It actually does work.. I've glued speaker surrounds as stated before.. held up no problem.. on RF 15" and Audiobahn.. I've glued my Brother's and Grandmothers Mirror back on their car when they broke them.. and numerous other things.. doesnt take much.. and is Super Strong.. and very flexible when needed..

Stronger than most glues out there on the market.. Even the glue they use on speakers..
