Hello,

I'm new to car audio, and I'm looking to install 2 12" subwoofers. The installation isn't the problem, just the wattage. The subs are Boss Audio CX124DVC, which are both 4 Ohm DVC. My question is, what wattage of amp do I need, and what's the best way to wire this setup? I was thinking around a 2,000 or 2,500 watt mono amp, but I could be way off. Oh, and if you have any suggestions on what to get, they have to be available at Petra.com, because that's where I'm ordering from because it's local and cheap. I'm not looking for anything spectacular, just something pretty cheap with some bumpin' bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks!

Well, Im really just looking based on spending very little - as little as possible. I don't care if the bass isn't insane, I just want cheap. Why wouldn't a 2 channel amp between 2500 and 3000 watts work well? They seem more affordable.

Those subs....to be honest...are not any good at all. Have you already bought those subs? If you're just looking for some bass but nothing real loud, I would consider a single 8" or a single 10", not 2 12".

Well, I do want loud. Just something good sounding. What's wrong with them? Would they not work for what I want? It's hard to beat $32!

Changed one last time to Boss P126DVC. Looks like if you break them in, they'll sound good. Would 2 of those run good at 1 ohm on the Audiopipe APSM-1300? Thanks!

Boss is the one of the worse car audio brands you can buy.. there is a reason they arte only 30 bucks bro. Get a better brand 8 and it will have more output and a lot better sound quality

^^ Yes. You generally get what you pay for. Brands like Boss, Pyramid, or Lanzar are not concerned with making a good product. They only make cheap stuff because there is a market for that.

How much space are you willing to give up for the subs? We can help you find a budget sub that you will be happy with, but expect to pay $100 or so.
