I have a couple of sizable amps I want to inset in a board flush mounted. how do I rid of heat without using a fan or drawing for voltage? Is there some kind of heat sink you can get?
Depends on what type of amps these are. Lightining audio has changeable heat sinks that incorporate fans for cooling. Other than that Try mounting on board wil a lilttle elevation between tha amp and board.
Heat is one of the worst enemies for audio equipment. I would play the amps for awhile and see how much heat they are giving off. Then i would decide if i want to ruine it with enclosing it. With mounting it fluse its basicaly puting a blanket it on it and the air flow is deminished. Depending on the load the amps are under will greatly determine the amount of heat. The more room the more air //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif If you can find a spot cut a hole and place vent cloth over it to allow air to flow, and the vent cloth makes it less noticable. Play around with idea's, installing fans will hardly make a dent on your current draw. And just a simple rocker switch is all you need. and a relay, all this info can be found on the net. The flush mount looks nice and if they over heat... whats the point? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Good Luck...
