Guys I just bought an Arc Audio KS1000.1 and now I'm just trying to decide on a 12 inch subwoofer to use in my QX56. The sub will be placed in the place of the rear center console between the captain chairs. I need my trunk space for the dogs so can't place the box there. I am having a custom box built in place of the center console it'll look nice and pretty once done. Regardless, I'm having a tough time deciding on a proper sub. I'm not a total bass head, but I do want something that maintains sound quality while being able to thump pretty hard. I'm running two pairs of Hertz HSK165's off of a Arc Audio KS300.4 so I want something that can keep up with those. Was thinking of an FI Q or an FI BL. The local Hertz/Audison dealer here in town keeps urging me to go with a Hertz HX300 but I'm concerned this sub is geared more towards sound quality. Any other suggestions? DLS, Image Dynamics, etc.?

Here are the specs on that KS1000.1:

Power output RMS @ 4 ohms: 1 x 850 watts

Power output RMS @ 2 ohms: 1 x 1000 watts

Power output RMS @ 1 ohm: 1 x 1000 watts

Transient Distortion (400W): Frequency Response: 20Hz - 250Hz

Signal to Noise Ratio (A wtg.): >112dB

Bass Boost: +15dB@10-125Hz

Crossover (Butterworth): 30Hz - 250Hz variable 24dB

Fuse: 30A x 2

Size: 15.0 1/2"(L) x 8.0"(W) x 2 3/8"(H)

SAME AS IDMAX

Also, which IDmax 12 do I need? The Dual 2 ohm or the Dual 4 ohm. I have a JL12W7 and that is a single voice coil sub in my boat - not familiar with the dual voice coils. Can anyone tell me? Thanks!

If your gonna run only one i would go with a D2 voice coil as you can get it down to 1ohm and let the amp run more efficient (I'm not an expert so this statement about the amp being more efficient is from what I have heard and read) and the D4 will drop to 2ohm's but actually from the amps specs either one would work as at both 1 and 2 ohms are rated at 1000w RMS but i personally go with the D2 but thats just my $.02
