Frozen Cone?

So my subwoofer Cerwin Vega 15" DVC 2 just cut off one day. Today I pull out the box check the voice coil..fine no burns or smell, checked the spiders perfectly in tact however the cone is like frozen solid it can not be pushed in by hand gently of course I used to be able to so wth?

when that happend to one of my rl-p;s the motor shifted from the top plate pinching the voice coil

stick it in the microwave and put it on the defrost option, run it for about 15 minutes.

cover with a towel if desired.

This is a not a freeze due to temperature all these jokes and no help...

It has to be one of two things...I would think anyways. If you did not run it really hard and lock it up then the motor must have shifted pinching the coil.Is it worth fixing?? that is up to you.Might be a recone.

I think the motor might have shifted as I wasnt running it too hard, how much does a average recone go for these days

if the motor shifted you cant just recone it, the motor needs to be realigned first

Motor shifted, or the voice coil unwound. Did you check the coils with a DMM, or are you just assuming the coils are okay..? If the coil unwound in the gap, it would likely seem 'frozen'.
