First Attempt at Budget Woofer/Amp.. Advice Needed

not true, their 4 gauge is ACTUAL 4 gauge. It just looks like 2 gauge because of all the junk flea market brand 0 gauge kits floating around flooding the market bringing down some percieved standards lol.

Op, just wire that sub parallel and learn "how to set gains with a digital multi-meter", google that up. You can control how much power the sub will see via gain settings. Plus sundown subs are very very tough and tanky, they'll handle a lot more then rated.

Awesome, so at least the Sundown Subwoofer is a decent woofer right?

What about that HiFonics HFi1500d? Should it perform well with that sub?

And wouldnt I wire it in series so I can run 500 rms rather than parallel? Wouldnt parrallel push it to 1 ohm? If so that would be 1500 rms that is 1000 more than rated for the Woofer

This amp does not do rated power just looking at the amp fuse ratings.

You cant push a amp more then what it can push itself.

Also you do not have to set the amp gain at full 1500 watts if it even does that. You need a dmm to make sure you do exactly 500 watts and even then depending on the music you listen to, the power will be dynamic.

Yea I already ordered it, hopefully the amp holds up and does the 500 RMS like it states. It has very good reviews so..
