i was wondering if anyone could recommend me some amps for my sub. It’s a jbl gx1200 250 watts rms at 4 ohms single voice coil. Someone recommended me a Rockville db11 it does 220 cea rated but 440 rms and I was wondering what you guys think or would recommend? I have about 100 bucks to spend on an amp. Thanks

The rockville is rated 350 at 2 ohms. So at 4 ohms which your subwoofer will be at it will probably put out around half that. It has a 40 amp fuse so I don't think it will put out enough power at 4 ohms. It's always good to have headroom with amplifiers. The Power Acoustik has a 50 amp fuse rating and should do slightly more power.

Okay right now I saw it on Walmart’s website for $97, but at Best Buy the have a keyword for 100. What do you think about this one it gives some headroom

this one is 69 but I wasn’t sure about power acoustik being a good brand but now that you mention it I fell better about it.

Getting a good voltage reading does not mean good power transfer. You could read 13.8v out of a 24 AWG wire. Recheck your amplifier's ground and...

No need to bypass the amp. Most use an LOC that takes the full amped signal and turns it into a flat RCA level signal. Here is the newest I have...

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
