67 camaro am radio
I've finally gotten to the point in my Camaro restoration to begin the sound system install. The goals I'm shooting for are: keeping a period correct look, adding modern features (USB & aux inputs, Bluetooth,), adding plenty of power, sound quality and trying to stay south of 1500$.
Head unit:
Retrosound Model 2. Quite possibly the biggest advance in old school "period correct" head units ever
Amplification:
Sundown 100.4 & 1200.1
Sub:
Fi Q 12" loaded w/modified spiders for 800 watts.
Front stage:
Screamin' Performance kickpanels w/ close out cans
Image Dynamics CXS64 v.2
Power supply:
120 amp single wire alternator, trunk mounted Deka AGM 775 cca battery, Tspec fuse/distribution block, 1/0 DLO cable to supply the block, 4 gauge to the 1200.1 and 8 gauge to the 100.4. Welded ground block w/brass hardware
This is the largest stereo install I've done to date... Opinions and critiques are welcome.
So far, I've only installed the head unit and the driver side cross over (fits nicely in the hinge space). The ID 6.5 woofers will need a spacer (on order) to clear the close out can.
