150 db + 1998 Ford Escort zx2 Build log

im saying his cars weight limits and get ready to drop $500 on parts for the rear end and like another 1k$ for electrical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

but hell yea hes doing good and will get it, never said he wouldn't. just warnings to a fellow escort runner of their weight problems
yea i compete in amateur trunk so i can ONLY run one extra battery and stock alt. i could get there no problem if i was in a differant class. but i have a couple tricks up my sleeve. and yea i need some suspension help a little lol

he is persistant and is not afraid to ask for help and re do when nesc so he'll do it espescialy when he gets his new design from me lol
thanks man! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Tune it lower //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
If the box is tuned to 50, you're probably peaking around like 55-60 right? That's probably quite a bit above that sub's Fs. I'd try messing around with the tuning. On top of that, I bet your vehicle's Fs is alot lower than that too. Lowering the tuning so it peaks nearer to the vehicle's and sub's Fs could pick up a little dB and sound a **** load nicer to the ear.
thats just my burp port. daily is the 2 4s tuned to 32 htz. but my car peaks at 56 so 50 htz tuning is good

That's a really high Fs inside the cabin. No wonder people have so much trouble getting loud in those. Most cabin's add quite a bit of gain down low, looks like you kinda got the shaft in that category //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Good to hear you've got a daily setup as far as ports go... 50Hz has gotta sound awful to the ear. Have you tried playing music with the SPL port installed? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yea lol. theres one song that plays decent but my sub hates 50 htz for daily lol.

What's the Fs of that sub? I mean... I know they're stiff as FAWK, but it's still a heavy ass coil and a 15" sub, I imagine it can't be over 40Hz.

On the plus side, 50Hz tuning would handle SOOOO much power on a burp.

yea the fs is mid 30s. and yes it can handle so much power. and the efficiency is amazing so thats why i was driven to DC. my buddy has an 18 level 5 and burps his on 14k all day.

I loled at the tweeters mounted on the rear seat. Are you black? Other than that, youre progressing very nicely with the setup, have you checked the voltage at your amps during a burp by chance?
theres no tweeters mounted on the back seat. lol. there 6x8s. and thats there stock location. i just cut out the rear dash so u can actually see the speaker. and voltage on a burp at .35 ohms, about 2500 rms after rise i go from 14.4 to 13.9
