Orion 2500D owners!

Yeah...**** DBDrag and their rules. I just need lots and lots of power! I don't have enough to push my APX's right now. Only able to run my 1 riprock at 1 ohm for them. They are dual 1 ohm...Possibly a couple of VFL150.1's

Shawn

i got a viper 2500d.. i know it is basically the same as the orion, so do you think it will be able to handle a .67 ohm load?

I have it running at a 2.67 ohm load, but gain high in order to give me 1800w and it runs warm. With a .67 the gain will be much lower, but will it run hotter?

ok, just to put my 2 cents in,

Even though your running your amps at .5 or whatever its probably only seeing 1-2ohms.

which 1 means you are not getting 2500watts

and 2 means that you can run ur amps that low because you are not actually getting a .5ohm load.

So you're saying that orions ratings are overrated then? Because the 2500d is rated at 2500 @ 1ohm / 13.8v..... Personally mine are at .5 ohms resting each //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

your viper makes power at 2 ohms the orion makes power at 1 ohm. so you could try .67 if you like but i don't think you'll like the results.

I would say at least 1800 at .5 ohm, cause it will do almost 1400 at 1 ohm.
on 16+ vdc maybe.

1200D with a stable 14.2vdc supply will put out 1500-1600rms at 0.5dcr actual. I had one of mine benched.

on 17.5-18 vdc is has been known to knock out close to 2.4kw into a 0.4dcr load. Not my test.

just curious...
gain match, flip the phase on 1, connect the negatives, use 1 amp for positive, use the other for the negative?
Not according to the big wig competitors. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
