Comparing these 2 Yamaha Receivers?

I would like to know if equalizing The Bass and Treble on the Yamaha RX-V479BL which shows the "Tone Control" option is just as effective in compared to the Yamaha R-N500BL which has the Bass and Treble Knobs you can physically turn?
