depends on impedance. sweet spot is 1400-1600 for the woofer overall imo...Thats no where near required. Does fine on lower power as well....just anything above 1600 and your wasting your time. thermally i'd say about 60 amps(ported non bp) is the max it can dissapate on unclipped music.

Tweeters will hurt your ears a lot more than most subs but, the Q will pound your chest pretty good though. I had it in a 1.5 sealed with 1000 watts and it was plenty loud. If you want a sub to hurt yours ears a little, port it and tuned it high or something.
