The reason many people think they lose authority is due to less distortion which leads to less harmonics in the mid to upper bass region. That just shows a flaw in their enclosure design. My xbl drivers have been able to get down to 20hz and lower with authority and sound every bit as loud as a standard sub I had that could also play flat down that low. There was a noticeable decrease in distortion but not in output.</p></blockquote><p></p>
