No these are a 12 spoke but they are not rounded spokes they have some straight edges on them.

they way i can tell it is a AQ basket is right where the spider connects to the basket there is a plastic ring with makes it easier to recone the subs and DD subs doesnt have that and that makes the spider alot smaller than the DD spiders

Ok, well I'm building a custom sub, so what is the advantages of having a bigger/smaller spider?

You'll want a bigger spider, the smaller the spider, the less amount of excursion. Its why most 8" subs dont have anything bigger than a 2 or maybe 2.5" spider and there isnt many 4" coil 10"s around.

LOL! Again you're just way out of your league here.

You're referencing ID when you should have been referencing OD. The ID has to match the diameter of the former or it won't attach. It is possible to have a spider landing almost the same size as the basket opening. There is really nothing stopping a basket manufacturer from doing it. Excursion isn't JUST limited by the OD of the spider. Is it progressive? How tall are the ripples?

Also, excursion isn't really something you should desire. At tuning your sub will have almost no excursion. Only once it gets away from tuning and starts to unload does it have much excursion.

Also to rob, my latest DD recones came with that plastic ring. It holds multiple spiders together. It did make the recone easier but DD uses them as well but it is not a part of the basket until you glue the recone in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.
