There might have been a year ago when they first got a batch in.  But it seems CDT is just selling the regular cl-61's at $149 but calling them A. The ones i got said CL-61's, no where did it mention that they were the 61A's. The paint is exactly the same on those and the CL-6x's. And i don't think they ever had a paint problem on the coaxs.
