[QUOTE="hoss, post: 2391229, member: 549860"] being over dramatic about someone robbing me? perhaps. but when it happens to you see if it doesent strike a nerve... thanks for that back up. and no, i wasnt running a killer system, i was running a single Visonik V900HC, not a small amp, but not some killer. a 240 amp alt should have been plenty for it. that is, if that alt had put out that much current... you want facts, you could have searched, i have posted on here several times before exactly what went down. but ill play it all again for you... i ordered the alt from dominick, paid about $400 for the "240 amp" alt. i recieved the alternator about 5 weeks after i mailed him my money, kind of a lengthy amount of time i thought. i put it on my car, the alt was DOA. didnt do anything. right out of the box, completely dead, not putting out any current. i put the stock alt back on (changing the alt on my car was about an hour and a half process by the way) and it worked fine. i mailed the alt back to dom, he "fixed" it, and mailed it back. he had it for about a week and a half for his repair, it wasnt very quick turn around. but i got the alternator back, put it back on my car, and this time it worked. it was very weak, had more dimmage and voltage drop than with my stock alt. i asked dom about it, he told me to keep an eye on it for a little while. i did, and within a couple of weeks the alternator died again. was driving my car, my headlights kept getting dimmer and dimmer, and voltage was getting lower and lower. pulled over, put the clamp on it, and sure enough, nothing coming out of the alternator. i took it off, again, mailed it back to dom. he recieved the alternator, did his fix again, and mailed it back, which again took a few weeks. when i got the alt back, i put it back on and sure enough, just took a few more weeks for it to die again. i called dominick, this time i was pretty pissed, i think you can understand why... he attempted to alleviate the situation, by offering me a large case GM 200 amp alt for free. i settled on this, thinking hey, i can at least sell the GM and compensate for some of my losses. after he recieved the alt for the third time, he fixed it again, and sent me an email saying that he had done so and had mailed it back. i should also add in that all communication was done through email, as he would never answer his phone for me, or return phone calls. whenever i called him he would email me back. too chicken shit to talk on the phone. after he emailed me and said he had mailed the alt back, i emailed him back asking if he mailed the GM alt with it. he pretended like he knew nothing about it. then he completely denied it when i showed him HIS email showing what he had said. he claimed he never said anything like that, and that i was making it up. even though i had documented proof of what he had said. and steve, i dont know you, and not to sound like an ***, but i really dont care if you believe anything im saying. i know you are a big competitor, and im sure that dominick treats you very differently than he does most. but i know of several other competitors that he has ripped off as well. ask sean belanger about him. ask alma about him... ask any of the others on this forum who have had bad experiences with him, and that list is quite lengthy... perhaps im more vocal about than others are, but i really would prefer others didnt have to deal with his BS. and $400 for the alternator i got was a complete rip off... i recently purchased two alts from a local shop that are doing a combined total of 475 amps, and i paid $380 for the pair... and i have had no problem at all out of them running over 5000 watts... kinda makes no sense why anyone would prefer to spend more money on an alternator from dominick that is going to do less than others will...
