One is if the window is made of glass (some cars use lexan, a type of plexiglass for weight saving) it can pose a danger to the driver in a crash (more flying glass). Second if there is a crash it is easier for people to pull the driver out. Also remember some race cars don't have doors that open.</p></blockquote><p></p>
