All these audio places around Seattle are quoting me up to $600 fo a 200 amp alternator for my Expedition. I found one for $180 and it works just fine.  I also bought an 'Optima' Yellow top battery. Remember to use atleast 4 guage wiring from the alternator to your battery. I am looking into a cap right now. I am running 1 xtant 1000 watt amp and 1 xtant 600 watt amp to my stereo. Soon I will be running another xtant 1000 watts to push each of my subs. I might even consider buying another battery and a battery isolator just to be safe with the charging.
