OK, I am new to the forum so be gentle also I don't do comp so don't laugh at my amps. I will start out with what I have: HU: Pioneer FH-P8000BT Amps: Sony 1200W 2 channel bridged at 4 ohm, Sony 500W 4 channel running speakers. Speakers: 2 Infinity Kappa 680.9 CS (front) and 2 Pioneer 3-ways (rear) Subs: 2 Rockford Fosgate P2L-212 in a ported box. Battery: Kinetik 600W Now to the problem. I have installed all the equipment and I am getting a significant alternator-type whine. I have seperated the RCAs from the power line, I have done a direct to car battery ground for both the HU and the amp in question. The amp in question is the four channel amp running my door speakers. I said/wrote alternator-type whine do to the fact that the whine matches the revs of my car. Here is the kicker: the whine shows up when the engine is not running as well. I have grounded the amps and battery in their own locations and I do not think there is any ground looping as it is not that type of whine. Here's the monkey wrench: The whine does not happen all the time, just most of the time. Any suggestions will be welcome and I hope to have a decent two way conversation to the solution to my problem. Thank you for your time.
