Hi I have the new alpine type-r comps 2005 model they are rated at 75w rms and 300w peak i think. Currently I am using a shark 2 chan amp for them which i got for £40 at the local store its a realy cheap crap amp it says 260w on the front of it but I dont know what the rated power per chanel is. Amp I Am using http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3530.html I was just woundering if getting a new amp would make my type-r's sound louder and better? at the moment they are pretty drowned out by my L7 and start to distort at pretty low volumes. So I was woundering if someone could recomend a good 2 channel amp for me? Ive been looking at some of the alpine amps and the ALP-MRPT220 says: RMS Power (4ohms): 50 W RMS Power (2ohms): 70 W So does that mean if i wire it parralel itle will give me 50w per chan and if i wire it bridged itle give me 70w per chan? If someone could help me choose an amp would be greatly apreciated. Here are a few I have been looking at...
