One person's handful of goods doesn't go to show anything other than one person's handful of goods. However, it is true that not all goods coming from China (or any other single area) are either good quality or bad. The quality of the product depends on a variety of factors. Most importantly, what the buyer specifies and what the manufacturer delivers. If the buyer specifies high quality materials and construction techniques and the manufacturer delivers the same, then the quality is there regardless of where the product comes from. Regarding China, most consumer goods are produced there and there are infinitely more low to mid quality goods demanded by consumers than there are high quality goods so it stands to reason that more low to mid quality goods come from Chinese manufacturers than high quality goods. That doesn't mean Chinese manufacturers can't or won't produce high quality goods... it means just what it is and nothing more. It's sad that Chinese workers and business owners have been given the reputation of producing nothing but junk simply because US manufacturers are asking them to produce cheap products. In the case of the Delta faucet Mr foca bought, it isn't the build house owner or workers who are responsible for the low quality products, it is Delta. Even if Delta specified a particular thread, they should have some form of QC in place to catch manufacturer defects. After all, they are the real "manufacturer" of the product and it is their name on the product so it is their responsibility to ensure that no faulty products leave their facilities enmasse.
