I have a 1/2" din EQ thats mounted under my HU, i have it wired to the radio ignition wire so when i turn the key on the EQ comes on whether or not the HU is on, i want the EQ to power on when the HU powers on and go off with the HU, i was thinking about running a wire from the batt to a relay and running the HU rem wire to the relay and connecting the power wire for the EQ to the relay that way when my HU comes on my EQ will too. The only problem is i have never ran a relay before and i was wondering... if i get a 40 amp relay from autozone do i need to get a haness or anything? Some one told me that in order for a relay to work you have to get a adapter or something... Is this true? or can i just connect the wires to the relay using terminal connectors? I don't want it to be a hazard and i want to do it right, any help is appreciated ...TIA
