Message: <blockquote data-quote="skinnykenny" data-source="post: 332113" data-attributes="member: 550693"><p>I'm in the middle of making a homemade boombox (similar to those ice chest boomboxes you may have seen) to put in my UPS truck.  It's made out of medium density fiber board and covered in carpet.  The inside dimensions are 14"W X 10"H X 6"Deep.  I have the Alpine 9803 HU to install in it and I was planning on putting a pair of Alpine 690a 6X9's in it.  I've read on a few posts that 6X9's sound muddy and tend to distort when cranked up loud.  I don't know much about speakers but I'll admit that I always assumed that bigger speakers sounded better.  Now I don't know what size speakers to use.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Also, understand that I'm not trying to win any competitions here, I just want it to play as clean and loud as possible.  Thanks</p></blockquote><p></p>
